Terms of Service

1. Beta Service

Vela is currently in beta. The service may be unstable, features may change, and data loss is possible. We provide Vela "as is" without warranties of any kind.

2. What Vela Does

Vela is a personal daily planning assistant. It uses AI (Claude by Anthropic) to help you organize tasks, schedule your day, and build productive habits. Vela connects to your Todoist and Google Calendar accounts to read and write task and event data on your behalf.

3. AI Disclaimer

Vela's suggestions are generated by AI and are not professional advice. Planning recommendations, time estimates, and priority suggestions are best-effort and may be inaccurate. You are responsible for your own scheduling decisions.

4. Your Account

• You must provide accurate information when signing up
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You are responsible for the integrations you authorize (Todoist, Google)
• One account per person

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Vela to process data you don't have rights to
• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or abuse the AI system
• Use Vela for any illegal purpose
• Share your account with others

6. Third-Party Integrations

Vela connects to Google Calendar, Gmail, and Todoist using OAuth authorization flows you initiate. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms. Vela is not responsible for changes, outages, or data handling by third-party services.

7. Data & Privacy

Your use of Vela is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using Vela, you consent to the data practices described there, including sending your task, calendar, and email data to AI services for processing.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all data you provide to Vela. Vela and its creators retain all rights to the service, software, and AI-generated planning suggestions. You may use AI-generated suggestions for your personal planning purposes.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through Vela's settings. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vela and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. This includes but is not limited to: missed appointments, lost tasks, scheduling errors, or data loss.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
